‘We gave them Sanogo!’ – Arsenal fans troll Manchester United over Alexis Sanchez transfer

It’s been over a year since Alexis Sanchez left Arsenal for Manchester United and it’s safe to say he still hasn’t quite settled in at Old Trafford.

The Chilean winger became the Gunners’ talisman after arriving from Barcelona in the summer of 2014 as he seemed to single-handedly drag the entire team into the Champions League spots and FA Cup finals during his time in north London.

His departure for another Premier League rival was meant to serve as a reminder that Man United were a club on the up and Arsenal simply could no longer match up.

But since making the move, Alexis has not exactly been Man United’s saviour as he has failed to nail down a place in the team under Jose Mourinho or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In more than a year at Old Trafford, the 30-year-old has managed just three league goals and looks a shadow of his former self.

On Tuesday night, he was brought on just before the half to replace an injured Jesse Lingard with the scores level between Man United and Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League second round first leg.

PSG went on to win the game 2-0 as Sanchez put in yet another abject performance in a Man United shirt.

As they saw the Chilean once again fail to impose himself on a big game, there was only one thing on Arsenal fans’ minds: thank god he’s gone.
