TOTTENHAM TEAM NEWS: Tottenham take on Wolves at Wembley Stadium this afternoon.
Spurs moved up to second in the Premier League with their 5-0 thrashing of Bournemouth on Boxing Day, and they will close the gap to leaders Liverpool to just three points with a win today, for a few hours at least.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are on top form right now, having overtaken champions Manchester City, and will be expecting another victory, although Wolves are enjoying a decent campaign themselves.
The Argentinian boss has been rotating several players recently, and we expect that policy to continue ahead of a Tuesday night trip to Cardiff.
Dele Alli should be back in contention after a hamstring injury, although he might have to settle for a place on the bench here.
Jan Vertonghen (thigh) is out for at least one more game, while Serge Aurier (groin) is also a doubt.
Midfield trio Eric Dier (appendix operation), Mousa Dembele (ankle) and Victor Wanyama (knee) are not expected back until next weekend’s FA Cup clash with Tranmere.
Kieran Tripper and Ben Davies should rotate back in though, at the expense of Kyle Walker-Peters and Danny Rose.
Davinson Sanchez should also come back into defence, with either Juan Foyth or Toby Alderweireld dropping to the bench.
In midfield, youngster Oliver Skipp could benefit from a start if either Moussa Sissoko or Harry Winks require a rest.
Erik Lamela could come into the front four, at the expense of either Lucas Moura or Christian Eriksen.
In-form duo Harry Kane and Son Heung-min should definitely start though.
Tottenham’s likely line-up (4-2-3-1): Lloris; Trippier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Davies; Sissoko, Winks; Lamela, Eriksen, Son; Kane
