Tottenham proposed with attacking Argentinian int’l in £21.7m offer T ransfer Talk

Tottenham have been proposed with the opportunity to sign Udinese’s Argentinian winger Rodrigo de Paul for £21.

7million (€25million), according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian news outlet claim that the Lilywhites had been offered the 24-year-old by the Serie A side but that Mauricio Pochettino’s team are looking for players who offer something different from the four-cap forward.

It is stated that Inter Milan are chasing his capture and that the player’s agents are in the northern Italian city over a prospective move, but that Spurs were offered to sign the player ahead of the San Siro outfit.

An interesting proposal from Udinese, who were obviously hoping that they could tempt Tottenham, who have been lacking in attacking options in recent weeks, into splashing the cash for de Paul and ensuring that their rivals did not get their hands on his talents.

However it seems as though Udinese are going to have to resign themselves to the fact that Inter, their league rivals, look the most likely to snap up his signing and they will have to make do with the money that comes their way.

Would de Paul have been a good signing for Tottenham? Wingers are not exactly what Pochettino needs right now, rather a striker and attacking midfielder, but his versatility in attack could have come in useful.

The truth of the matter may well be that Spurs simply did not have the £21.

7million that Udinese were asking for, with the Lilywhites currently strapped for cash.
