Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan believes Liverpool, along with several top Premier League sides, are tracking Mexican star Hirving Lozano.
The attacker was in fantastic form for El Tri in the World Cup and has continued that with PSV in the Eredivisie.
Lozano has scored 13 goals and provided 6 assists in 19 league games this season, and Van der Kraan told the Transfer Talk podcast that the 23-year-old could adapt to the English game easily (h/t Daily Star):
“We’re talking about a player who I do think would be a success in the English Premier League very quickly.”
The Dutch expert further claimed that the youngster would not remain in the Netherlands for long, and compared him to a former Liverpool star:
“If I compare him with anybody then it would be Luis Suarez. He’s a winger who can play striker.”
The expert was then asked if there was any interest in the 23-year-old and Van der Kraan gave three names off the top of his head:
“Well I think we’re looking behind Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea and probably almost every club in the top half of the table in the Premier League.
“They’re all visiting the Eindhoven stadium probably every week. They’re keeping an eye on him.”
Lozano seems to be the next big thing in Mexican football, and it will be interesting to see how things develop in the coming weeks.
The 23-year-old can play anywhere across the front-line, and it is interesting that the Mexican is being compared to Suarez.
We all know how well that transfer turned out to be for Liverpool, and we could do with more attacking options under Jurgen Klopp.
