Everton are reportedly considering the sale of midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin in January.
According to the Daily Mail in its print edition (11 January 2019, page 85), the Toffees are going to listen to any offer for the 29-year-old.
The Merseyside club paid £20million (Guardian) to sign the Frenchman back in January 2017 and if a bid comes in he could depart Goodison Park two years on.
He’s had a difficult time trying to impress in an Everton shirt and his potential departure would prove that the era of manager Marco Silva is kicking into overdrive.
Silva arrived in the summer as the new Everton manager and he’s trying to impose his attacking brand of football in the team.
Schneiderlin has struggled to fit into the plans of the Portuguese boss, with Idrissa Gueye and Andre Gomes the preferred partnership in the centre of the park.
Schneiderlin has made just nine first-team appearances this campaign and fallen completely down the pecking order.
The defensive midfielder has been guilty of inconsistency in his displays throughout his Everton career and looks a shadow of the player he once was in his Southampton days.
He could certainly still plug a defensive hole in another Premier League team as Everton wait for potential suitors and his exit will be another shift towards Silva building a squad in his image.
