The word legend is used too loosely these days when it comes to footballers, but there is no doubt that Rafael van der Vaart is considered to be one among the Tottenham Hotspur fans.
The former Spurs midfielder was today celebrating his 36th birthday and took to Twitter to share his thoughts.
Van der Vaart posted a video of himself scoring for Hamburg at the Emirates in 2006 along with a message which mocks Arsenal for playing in the Europa League on Thursday nights, while his former clubs Real Madrid, Ajax and Tottenham Hotspur take part in the Champions League knockout stages.
The Dutchman terrorised Arsenal during his playing career and continues to do so in retirement.
Thank you to everyone for all the birthday messages. Here’s one of my favourite goals, against Arsenal!!
Glad @ChampionsLeague is back this week with my clubs @AFCAjax @realmadrid and @SpursOfficial all in action. Wondering who’s playing Thursdays? 🤪 pic.twitter.com/qSF3NK73eV
