Manchester United could be set to give their squad two massive boosts, according to the latest transfer rumours.
The first, in what would be a sensational move, is former Liverpool favourite Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian has started just half of Barcelona’s La Liga matches this season and is being linked with a move away after just a year with the Catalan giants. Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have even claimed that United have contacted the midfield maestro’s agent in a bid to coax him back to the Premier League. The article does warn that, while Coutinho is ‘angry’ at his current situation, he’s not ready to throw in the towel just yet – after all, the move to Barcelona had been his dream.
Also linked with a move to Old Trafford is Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini. Italian media outlet Il Messaggero has said that United, along with Arsenal and Chelsea, are at the front of the queue to sign the 22-year-old who is said to have a £27m release clause in his current contract. Pellegrini has started just nine Serie A games this season although started for Italy in the UEFA Nations League in September.
Meanwhile, Liverpool could also add to their panel, according to the latest whispers. That is said to be in the form of Israeli striker Munas Dabbur. The 26-year-old has been in hot form for Red Bull Leipzig this season, netting nine Bundesliga goals to add to the 22 he notched in last year’s league campaign. Estadio Deportivo claims the Reds want to do a deal in this window, with Valencia and Fulham also said to be keen. The player is keen on a move, having been quoted by the same outlet as saying he intends to leave his current club before the window closes.
