After a summer in which five new players joined Arsenal, there are unlikely to be as many in this January transfer window.
Raul Sanllehi has openly admitted he is not a fan of the winter window, and while a number of injuries looked set to force new head coach Unai Emery into the market, the boss has admitted there are no funds to spend.
That means the Gunners will be looking at loan deals, and ahead of the summer transfer window too.
The lack of money will not stop the Gunners being linked with players.
Here we take a look at the latest rumours.
Arsenal are very hopeful that the Barcelona ace can arrive on loan this month following the news that they won’t be able to sign players on permanent deals.
According to El Desmarque, Suarez is “one step away” from joining the Gunners following a breakthrough in talks.
The agreement isn’t done yet, but there are only small details to sort out before Suarez leaves Barcelona.
The move would be on an initial loan, and although there’s no claim of future permanent clauses, that has been reported elsewhere.
It appears that Juventus have won the battle to sign the Welsh ace with his Arsenal contract set to expire at the end of the season.
The likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Manchester United have been heavily linked with the midfielder, yet reports from Italy suggest he’ll be joining up with the Bianconeri in the summer.
Well, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claim that the Serie A champions actually want the midfielder to join up with them this month but they aren’t prepared to pay €20m to Arsenal to get a deal over the line.
The Italian giants are said to be ‘studying alternatives’ at present and one option is to include Mehdi Benatia as part of the deal.
The Moroccan defender has been linked with Arsenal in the past and is said to be unhappy with his lack of opportunities in the first team, yet Max Allegri doesn’t want to part with him in January.
The Gunners are going to need to bring a new midfielder in this summer with Ramsey set to end his long association with the club.
Reports from Tutto Mercato Web in Italy suggest that man could potentially be Porto’s Hector Herrera.
The Mexican international is in the same boat as Ramsey at present with his deal set to expire in the summer.
Inter Milan are believed to be interested in the 28-year-old but his agent has quashed reports that he’s opened talks with the Italian giants.
Roma, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Wolves have also been linked with the midfielder.
Tipped to move for Lille’s Nicolas Pepe at the end of the season, reports from France suggest that the Gunners are also looking at another Ligue 1 star.
Rennes’ Ismaila Sarr is the man in question.
Le10 Sport (via Sport Witness) claim that Arsenal have let the winger know of their ‘strong interest’ regarding a summer move and will monitor him closely between now and May.
Inter Milan and Roma are also said to be keen on a deal for Sarr, who has netted eight goals in 24 appearances for his side so far this term.
Donis Avdijaj is a 22-year-old Kosovan international has impressed at Willem II in the Eredivisie this season.
The winger has four goals and three assists to his name in a struggling Willem side and has garnered interest from elsewhere, including Arsenal and Juventus.
He has so far failed to agree terms on a contract extension in the Netherlands, meaning he is free to speak to foreign clubs over a pre-contract agreement.
And Arsenal are reported by Dutch outlet Telegrafi as considering a move to snare him on a free transfer in the summer.
