Idrissa Gueye’s absence vs Huddersfield explained after Paris Saint-Germain bid for Everton midfielder

Idrissa Gueye has not been included in the squad for tonight’s game against Huddersfield Town tonight after asking to leave Everton.

But the Blues say Gueye is carrying a knock and has been left out due to an injury.

Everton have rejected a £21.5m bid from Paris Saint Germain and have made it clear the midfielder is not for sale.

Gueye has made it known he would like to leave for the French champions but Everton are determined to keep hold of the 29-year-old.

He has not been named in the matchday 18 at the John Smith’s Stadium and speculation over a move to PSG has now only intensified but Everton say Gueye has a small injury issue.

Silva has drafted Tom Davies in place of the wantaway midfielder as one of five changes.

Leighton Baines replaces Lucas Digne at left-back, Kurt Zouma comes in for the injured Yerry Mina who misses out completely, Bernard is in for Ademola Lookman and Cenk Tosun starts in place of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Maarten Stekelenburg is on the bench with Theo Walcott, Digne, James McCarthy, Calvert-Lewin, Lookman and Jonjoe Kenny.
