Everton player and agent ‘raise the tone’, put pressure on Tof fees for outgoing transfer

Le Parisien on Monday reported that Everton have rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s offer for Idrissa Gueye, which was believed to be between €25-€30m.

Foot Mercato in France claims the 29-year-old wants to leave the Merseyside club and make a switch to Parc des Princes, something that has been mentioned on numerous occasions across various reports.

For the deal to take shape, the Senegal international and his entourage are now putting pressure on the Toffees and have ‘raised the tone’ in the past few hours.

This was reportedly done after insistence from PSG, which is why both the player and his agent requested a meeting with Everton on Monday.

It’s explained that the Premier League side are unwilling to let the former Aston Villa man leave if their asking price isn’t met, which seems reasonable in the January window.

With the current situation, Foot Mercato claims Thomas Tuchel’s side will have to be more convincing if they hope to land Gueye in January.
