Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was revealed that Dejan Lovren looks likely to miss the first leg of the Champions League last 16 tie against Bayern Munich, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
The Croatian international hasn’t played for the Reds since suffering a hamstring injury against Wolves in the FA Cup at the start of January.
And has not taken part in the team’s warm weather training camp in Marbella.
Whilst his absence would be bad news on its own, Lovren’s failure to recover from this issue means that Jurgen Klopp has just one fit centre-back to choose from for the game against the Bavarians – Joel Matip.
Joe Gomez is also out injured, whilst Virgil van Dijk will miss the game through suspension.
It is looking likely that Fabinho and Matip will play in defence together for the huge game, which has got the Liverpool fans talking on Twitter…

@emptyMINDZ this potential nonsense with midfielders playing CB in big games is why I blame the club and klopp about the anxiety that has emanted the fan base. It was needless. If you listen to Anfield Index you would understand my frustrstion. When rumors were swirling around

As predicted, the laughable thing is that when Klopp ignores it in the summer, because he naievly seems to think that when a constantly injured player is fit that his injury issues are behind him, all the fans will say it's fine. Our squad is great. Just unlucky with injuries.

Needs to sold in the summer. 1. He’s injury prone 2. He’s garbage. Any easy £20m+ to be made. Won’t be missed

Ķlopp should of got a cb (even on loan) in January and letting clyne go now seems very foolish

Klopp knew he needed a centre back as cover in January and did nothing about it. It’s all on his shoulders imo.

This is beyond Bad, is terrible

Lovren is increasingly unavailable and appears unable to put a string of games together before picking up an injury of some sort. A shame but we can’t rely on him.
