Anthony Martial was one of six Manchester United first team players missing from the squad that arrived at their team hotel on Tuesday afternoon.
The Red Devils checked in at the Hilton Garden Hotel ahead of their home Premier League clash against Burnley
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led his team off the coach as he bids to win a ninth successive game in a row since taking charge.
However, there will be concern for United fans as in-form forward Martial was missing.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the Frenchman was not spotted by photographers.
Eric Bailly, Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian and Scott McTominay were among the other senior members not to be seen.
Marouane Fellaini, who is linked with a move to an unknown Chinese Super League club, is reportedly in Antwerp, Belgium, recovering from an injury.
It is possible, however, that the missing players made alternative travel arrangements to the hotel.
Solskjaer confirmed on Friday Chris Smalling would return to the squad after spending more than a month out through injury.
The defender hurt himself in the warm up prior to United’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool in December. His return to the first team could be timely given Bailly is missing.
Provisional squad: De Gea, Romero, Grant, Dalot, Lindelof, Jones, Smalling, Shaw, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Matic, Fred, Pereira, Herrera, Sanchez, Rashford, Lukaku.
