Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose has admitted he wants to stay at the club this summer, having been linked with a move away all season.
Rose has had an underwhelming campaign as he battled back from a knee injury and fought with Ben Davies for a spot.
His desire to stay however makes Toby Alderweireld more likely to be sold on this summer.
The Mail reported a few weeks ago that Tottenham are looking to raise more than £100 million from selling players this summer, as the cost of their stadium puts pressure on their transfer kitty.
Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld were named as two of the four players most likely to be sold if bids come in and were the most expensive, followed by Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele.
The likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are not considered for sale at any price.
Toby Alderweireld is another matter with the player at odds with the club over his contract.
Rose told SkySports he intends to stay and fight for his spot, commenting: “I fancy myself against anybody in the league. Pre-season; come back and hopefully me and Ben start from scratch and we start again and work hard to nail that number one spot.”
With the market for Rose also dimming, this means Alderweireld is by far and away Tottenham’s most likely route to raise money this summer, and his comments push the Belgian closer to the exit.
