Christian Eriksen on Barcelona
On Wednesday, the Catalan press reported that Christian Eriksen had been in touch with Barcelona, via his representatives.
The transfer rumour goes like this: Eriksen has long been touted as a Barcelona target, and was in the mix during the Philippe Coutinho negotiations.
Indeed, there are even claims that Spurs rejected a major offer for Eriksen from Barcelona last summer.
With Andres Iniesta set to play his final game for Barcelona against Real Sociedad on Sunday night, Eriksen has made discreet enquiries over whether he could be the Spanish legend’s replacement.
The good news for Spurs is that Daniel Levy has put a high price on Eriksen and Barcelona already have Coutinho and will seal the deal for Antoine Griezmann very soon.
Christian Eriksen returns to Middlefart
On Wednesday, Christian Eriksen returned to his home town of Middlefart.
Whilst on holiday, Eriksen visited a local team with various disabilities.
Despite the upcoming World Cup, Eriksen played with the youngsters and after training answered questions.
When asked about joining Barcelona, Eriksen replied: “They have not called. It’s just rumours”, he said with a smile, according to Fyens.
Christian Eriksen’s busy summer
Eriksen makes this visit every year and in true style, according to the Danish press, whilst he did not score, the Spurs playmaker did record a number of assists.
The Tottenham midfielder also told Fyens, “It is always nice to play on the team, but this year it has been difficult to get it planned due to the birth and national team. That’s why I was playing today.”
Christian Eriksen’s girlfriend, Sabrina Kvist Jensen, is pregnant and is due to give birth at the end of May.
