Why Spurs fans should be worried about Real Madrid poaching Pochettino

Is Real Madrid boss on his way out of the Bernabeu?
Will Mauricio Pochettino be the Tottenham manager come the start of the 2018/19 season?

It’s the question on every Spurs fan’s lips.

After the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester United, the Argentinian sent supporters into a frenzy with his “me or another” quote.

And following the final game of the season against Leicester City on Sunday, Pochettino was at it again. He admitted that he was happy at Spurs, but also said “you never know what happens in the future”.

And he challenged chairman Daniel Levy to “take risks” to take Tottenham to the next level.

Pochettino is widely regarded as one of the best up-and-coming young managers in European football and he has no end of suitors. Paris Saint-Germain were reportedly interested, while Chelsea have this week come to the fore as being keen to secure his services should Antonio Conte leave this summer.

However, the big one is Real Madrid.

And some news coming out of France today should have Spurs fans worried.

France manager Didier Deschamps is under huge pressure to perform at this year’s World Cup in Russia and according to reports in France the FFF have already sounded out Zidane, the current Madrid boss, over the possibility of taking over after the World Cup.

Zidane himself is under pressure to win the Champions League for the third year in a row to rescue a season in which they will finish at least 12 points behind Barcelona in La Liga.

If they do not win the Champions League, many believe Zidane will be axed and Pochettino will be high on the shortlist of names to replace him.
